The Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (MHLW) in Tokyo, Japan, has officially recognised UFAG Laboratorien AG and added the laboratory to the list of approved foreign laboratories. The service laboratory’s certificates of analysis are now recognised by the quarantine stations of Japanese Customs and form part of the approval process for food and food additives, among other things. This means that UFAG Laboratorien AG is now able to support its customers with their export projects for the Japanese market.
High-quality Swiss food specialities are very popular on foreign markets and generate around CHF 3.5 billion in sales every year – and rising. In the past, the laboratory has supported its customers with export projects, among other things, to countries in the European Union, as well as USA, Canada and China. Japan is a market that will contribute to the future growth of the Swiss export industry and, therefore, makes for an interesting extension of expertise in terms of the export analysis of UFAG Laboratorien AG.
