#Chlorothalonil – a long-term challenge

Hardly any other topic is currently of greater concern to Swiss water suppliers than chlorothalonil. While the widely used fungicide itself cannot be detected in drinking water, its metabolites can. Due to the longevity of these degradation products, even the 2020 prohibition on use has brought no noticeable relief. In many places, the legal maximum of 0.1 µg/l is being exceeded. Water suppliers need to gain an overview of the situation for their self-monitoring. As part of these efforts, the two most common metabolites R417888 and R471811 must be monitored and appropriate measures taken if the limits are exceeded. UFAG Laboratorien AG offers quick and reliable analysis for these compounds, backed by many years of experience in pesticide analysis. We look forward to hearing from you.
