Mycotoxins – the invisible danger during harvest time

Mycotoxins (fungal toxins) are secondary metabolic products of mold. Their toxicity makes them a risk to animal and human health that must be taken seriously.

Since they occur in almost all staple foods, the risk of chronic damage from regular consumption of contaminated food or feed is particularly high.

To ensure compliance with the respective maximum values, a statistically representative sample amount must be collected before the analysis. The analytical detection of the individual compound must be sufficiently sensitive and selective for the individual purpose (animal feed, food or infant food) to ensure the greatest possible product safety. Multi-methods using LC-MS/MS technology are used for this.
